According to Hamas, 70,000+ Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks in Gaza. Despite the ceasefire, attacks have continued, leading to increased deaths. Recently, 2 children also died in a drone attack.
Gaza: According to Hamas’ health ministry, the number of Palestinians killed in Israeli military operations in Gaza has exceeded 70,000. The report said that even after the ceasefire came into force on October 10, Israeli air strikes are continuing, due to which the death toll is continuously increasing. The increase in the number of deaths is due to Israeli air strikes, which are accused of violating the ceasefire agreement. Hamas also alleged that bodies were still being removed from the debris of collapsed buildings. The number of Palestinian deaths has now reached 70,100, according to Gaza Health Ministry figures. Of these, more than 350 deaths have occurred after the October 10 ceasefire.
Reports also state that the media are not able to independently verify figures from both sides, as Israel has prevented international journalists, including the BBC, from freely entering Gaza. Meanwhile, reports of the death of Fadi Abu Assi (8 years) and his brother Juma Abu Assi (10 years) have also come to light in the Israeli drone attack on Saturday. Family members said that they had gone to collect wood when they were killed in an Israeli drone attack.
Israel Defense Forces told the BBC that they had attacked two people who crossed the ‘Yellow Line’. The ‘Yellow Line’ is the border line from where Israeli forces agreed to withdraw under a US-brokered ceasefire agreement seven weeks ago. The children had gone to the eastern part of Khan Yunis to collect wood. Their bodies were identified and buried at Nasir Hospital on Saturday. Israel began military operations in Gaza on October 7, 2023, in response to an attack on Israel by Hamas. About 1,200 people were killed and 251 people were taken hostage in that attack.
