This player was the most expensive in BPL auction
Mohammad Naim was the most expensive player in the auction held for Bangladesh Premier League 2026. Chittagong Royals spent 1.10 crore Bangladeshi Taka (about 88,000 USD), which is about 81 lakh Indian rupees, for Mohammad Naim. The last season of this league was very good for Mohammad Naeem. He scored 511 runs at a strike rate of 143.94, emerging as the highest run-scorer in the season. The special thing was that the auction started with his name only and he also got the most money.
On the other hand, Rangpur Riders spent around Rs 66 lakh to buy Tauheed Hridoy. Liton Das also became a part of this team for around Rs 50 lakh. Dasun Shanaka was the most expensive among foreign players, who was bought by Dhaka Capitals for US$55,000 (about 49 lakh Indian rupees). Angelo Mathews and Niroshan Dickwella were bought by Chittagong Royals and Sylhet Titans for US$35,000 (approximately Rs 31 lakh) respectively. Habibur Rahman Sohan was the most expensive among the uncapped players, who was bought by Noakhali Express for US$40,000.
6 teams will play in BPL 2026
A total of 6 teams will be seen playing in Bangladesh Premier League 2026. These 6 teams are Dhaka Capitals, Rangpur Riders, Rajshahi Warriors, Noakhali Express, Sylhet Titans and Chittagong Royals. This season is likely to start from December 26. Let us tell you, this league is being played since 2012. But this is the first time after the initial season that players have been auctioned.
