What is the tradition of eating and distributing jalebi on 15 August

Jalebi, immersed in hot, crisp and sugar syrup, is not only wonderful in taste, but has also become an important part of celebrations. After hoisting the flag on the morning of 15 August, the fragrance of Jalebi spreads in every street. Whether it is a small town chowk or a big city colony, people everywhere eat it and realize its sweetness along with the celebration of freedom.

Freedom and sweets relationship

Historians explain that during the freedom struggle, when winning on a front, sweets were distributed in the village. Due to its easy recipe and long -term fresh, Jalebi became a popular dessert of that time and has been an integral part of happiness occasions since then.

Taste unity

The beauty of India lies in its diversity and Jalebi is a great example of this. Sometimes it is saffron in color, sometimes in the form of thick imrati, sometimes thin and crisp. It may change its form, but its sweetness and people’s love remain the same. This is why it is informally called ‘National Sweet’.
