‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is reminiscent of the masala entertainer films of the 80s. If you want to be entertained without using your brain, then this film will not disappoint you.
‘Welcome to the Jungle’ directed by Ahmed Khan has finally reached the theatres. This 32 star starrer film is the third installment of the ‘Welcome’ franchise, which is a blend of comedy, action, music and nostalgia. The film completely follows the style of masala films of the 80s, where the emphasis is on entertainment rather than logic. Akshay Kumar has once again returned to his old comic style and is seen commanding the entire film. Although the first half of the film is stronger, the story feels a little disintegrated in the second half.
What is the story of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’?
The story of the film revolves around a conspiracy to ruin a film worth Rs 2000 crore. During this time, there is such a mix-up of real and fake characters that comic situations are constantly created. The story sees many twists, comic confusion and large-scale spectacle. However, the purpose of the story is not to provide logic but to continuously entertain the audience.

Performance of the star cast of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’
The biggest strength of the film is its huge star cast. Akshay Kumar impresses the most with his excellent comic timing throughout the film. Sunil Shetty and Arshad Warsi are engrossed in their respective characters. Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and Shreyas Talpade bring tremendous laughter in many scenes. Johnny Lever looks dependable as always. The sequences with Farida Jalal, Raveena Tandon and Kiran Kumar are extremely entertaining. Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandes did not get much screen time, while Jackie Shroff makes his presence felt as the villain.
How is Ahmed Khan’s direction?
It was not easy to handle such a big star cast together, but Ahmed Khan has been successful in it to a great extent. The scale of the film looks big and many scenes give a cinematic experience. However the director has tried to put almost every masala element in a single film. This is the reason why the film loses its pace after the interval and many parts feel longer than necessary.

The music of the film leaves a mixed impact. Some songs provide a great visual treat on the big screen, but not all songs become memorable for a long time. The background score enhances many comic and action scenes.
How is the film on the technical front?
The production value is one of the biggest strengths of the film. The cinematography is colorful and gorgeous. The action scenes have been designed for the big screen. The editing is tight in the first half, but the film feels a little long in the second half. The visuals and set design give a grand look to the film.
