The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa will be played today i.e. on 30th November at the JSCA International Stadium. The match will start at 1:30 pm Indian time, while the toss will take place at 1 pm. The Indian team will play under the captaincy of KL Rahul, he is commanding the team in place of regular captain Shubman. At the same time, this match will also mark the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to the field. Before this match, Jharkhand State Cricket Association Secretary Shahbaz Nadeem has given a big statement on the pitch.
How many runs will be scored in Ranchi to win?
The pitch of this ground has always been challenging for the batsmen. The surface here is usually slow and less bouncy, due to which spin bowlers get a lot of advantage. So far, out of 6 ODI matches played at JSCA Stadium, the chasing team has won 3 times. That means winning the toss and bowling first proves to be a profitable deal here. Apart from this, the average score of the team batting first has been only 265 runs.
However, former Indian spinner and current JSCA Secretary Shahbaz Nadeem has said something different this time. He believes that this time the pitch will be very favorable for batting. Nadeem said, ‘This will be a very good batting pitch. The score of 300 will have to be crossed, the team scoring above 320 will get a clear lead. I can say that this will be a very good ODI match. If Nadeem’s prediction proves correct in today’s match, then fans can get to see an exciting match of long sixes and high scoring. Both the teams have explosive batsmen, so even the target of 300+ score will not be safe.
Team India’s record in Ranchi
India’s ODI record in Ranchi has been good. In 6 matches, Team India has won 3 and lost 2, while one match has been inconclusive. Team India played only one ODI against South Africa here in 2022, in which India won by 7 wickets. However, South Africa recently made a clean sweep of Team India in the Test. In such a situation, this series is also going to be very difficult for the Indian team.
