In Himachal Pradesh, there are chances of snowfall in the higher areas of the state along with drop in temperature from December 5. According to the Meteorological Center, due to the effect of western disturbance coming in the first week of December, there may be light rain or snowfall in the central hilly areas. The cold will be more severe in the coming week.

According to the bulletin, the weather will remain dry in Himachal Pradesh till December 4, after which the weather activities are expected to intensify in the higher reaches. The Center said in the bulletin that there is a possibility of light rain or snowfall at some places in the high mountains on December 4 and in both the middle and high mountains on December 5. This change is happening due to a new western disturbance coming in this area.

The department said that cold has already strengthened its grip in many parts of the state. Tabo in Lahaul-Spiti recorded the lowest temperature of minus seven degrees Celsius, which was one of the coldest nights of this season so far. At many places, the minimum temperature was 2-3 degrees below normal, while the maximum temperature remained between 11 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius.

According to the bulletin, dense fog was also reported in some areas, especially around Bhakra Dam reservoir in Bilaspur and Balh valley in Mandi. The Meteorological Department has advised drivers to be careful and use fog lights while traveling early in the morning and late at night.
