Every year more than 1 lakh devotees visit the ISKCON temple in Dhaka to visit Janmashtami, this temple is the largest Hindu religious place in Bangladesh.
Janmashtami 2025 Dhaka: On August 16, the festival of Janmashtami is being celebrated not only in India but also all over the world. Devotees of Lord Krishna have seen Krishna and Radha in ISKCON, Dhaka and Bangladesh. In ISKCON, a three -day festival has been started between Krishna Janmashtami. This festival is considered one of the most important religious events for the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
On this special occasion, the General Secretary of ISKCON Bangladesh, Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari said, “Tomorrow is the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. Programs including Kirtan are organized on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami throughout the day. In the evening, there will be Abhishek ceremony. We have a three -day program, and it will include many people. The government is taking excellent security measures. We have a meeting with our police. He has assured that this time will not happen.”

At the same time, Bangladesh Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus underlined the spiritual and cultural significance of the festival. Yunus said, “The birth anniversary of Lord Krishna’s divine incarnation, auspicious Janmashtami, is one of the main religious festivals of the Hindu community. Lord Krishna gave the message of justice, humanity and peace throughout his life to establish equality and peace in society. Since ancient times, the people of this country have been following their respective religions while maintaining communal harmony. On this special occasion, a fair is held in the temple in which devotees buy sweets and gifts. Talking about the beauty of the festival, Das Brahmachari said, “Lord Krishna should bless those who are righteous and who are wicked, change the mentality of those who are wicked and make them a good person. I pray that all the people in the world are happy. We all have bathing programs – we have bathing programs – offering water to Krishna, religious meetings, kirtans.”
