The director of Coolie, Lokesh Kanagaraj has been making back-to-back announcements about the film’s stellar cast. The film stars Rajinikanth in the lead role.
Earlier this week, the Coolie team announced that Soubin Shahir of Manjummel Boys has joined the cast. Then, on Nagarjuna’s 69th birthday, they revealed his involvement with the project. The latest update is that Shruti Haasan and Sathyaraj have officially joined the dynamic cast.

On August 30, Director Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed a poster featuring Shruti Haasan, officially announcing her role as Preethi in the movie. He posted on X, saying, “Thrilled to have Shruti Haasan joining the cast of Coolie as Preethi. Welcome aboard.”
Earlier this evening, Lokesh also released a character poster for the film, showcasing Sathyaraj. In the poster, the Love Today actor is dressed in a simple shirt and spectacles, gazing at the end of a wire. This teaser suggests a mysterious and intense element in the film.
Lokesh shared this on X, captioning it, “Excited to welcome #Sathyaraj sir to the cast of #Coolie as #Rajasekar. Welcome aboard sir (sic).” With this, fans are expressing their excitement on social media.
Coolie release date
Coolie is produced by Sun Pictures, with music scored by Anirudh Ravichander. The final release date of the film hasn’t been revealed yet. The film is set to be a major Tamil pan-India release in 2025, produced on a large budget and highly anticipated.
However, reports suggest that the movie is getting ready to hit the screens in the second half of next year. The shooting of the film began in July 2024.
