According to the legend, it is believed that there used to be a king named Kans in Mathura in Dwapara Yuga. Kansa loved his sister Devaki and could do anything for him. Devaki was married to Vasudev with great pomp. But one day it was predicted in the sky that the cause of his death would be the child of his own sister. It was said in the prediction that, O Kans, you are going to leave your sister in -laws, but only the eighth child born from his womb will be the cause of your death.
Kansa was stunned to hear this prediction. Kansa was a tyrannical ruler from which Brajwasi was upset. Kansa always treated his sister with love, but everything changed after hearing this prophecy. Kansa put his sister Devki (Devki) and her husband Vasudev in prison. Devaki told her brother that her child will never do this with her maternal uncle but Kansa did not listen to him.
After this, there were seven children of Devaki and Vasudev in prison itself, who were killed by Kansa. Yogamaya preserved the seventh child from Devaki’s womb and put it in the womb of Mother Rohini and the eighth child was given birth by Devaki. This child was Shri Krishna. Miracles started happening before the eighth child was taken to Kansa. The doors of the prison started opening on their own, the prison started shining with light and all the ways started to open on their own. Left this child to Vasudev and brought his daughter with him,
Nand ji’s Shri Krishna was brought up here and Yashoda Maiya gave his love. Later, Shri Krishna killed his maternal uncle Kansa and liberated the Brajwasis from his atrocities.
