Hailing from an ordinary family in a small village, he cracked one of the toughest examinations in India, the UPSC Civil Services Examination, and became an IAS officer. This story is not just his, but an inspiration for millions of youth who want to challenge the circumstances.
Who is IAS Moin Ahmed?
Moin Ahmed was born in Jatpura village of Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. His father, Wali Hasan, is a bus driver in UP Roadways and Moeen has four younger brothers. In childhood, Moeen had a dream of becoming a cricketer, but the financial condition of the house was not strong enough for his parents to help him fulfill this dream.
The path to UPSC was visible while working
Younger Moin started working to help the family. He worked in a cyber café and from there he entered the world of UPSC exams. Gradually his attention turned towards studies and government service. He left his café job to prepare for UPSC.
Father was worried about the decision to leave the job
Not everyone was supporting Moeen’s decision. His father was worried that he was leaving a good job and headed for an uncertain future. Some relatives also said that he was putting his bright future at risk. But his mother, Tasleem Jahan, always stood by him and inspired Moeen to move ahead with her full support.

Borrowed Rs 2.5 lakh for UPSC coaching fees
In 2019, Moin moved to Delhi and got fully engaged in UPSC preparation. He borrowed Rs 2.5 lakh for living expenses and coaching fees. He faced failure many times during his preparation. The first three attempts were not successful, but he did not give up. Every failure made him stronger and he worked on his weaknesses.

Become IAS by securing 296th rank in UPSC 2022
With continuous hard work and the support of his mother, Moin Ahmed succeeded in the UPSC exam for the fourth time. He secured 296th rank in UPSC 2022 and was selected as IAS officer in West Bengal cadre. Today Moeen is an inspiration for every youth who wants to make their dreams come true, no matter how difficult the circumstances are.
