Cole Palmer fit to play in London derby vs Arsenal? Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca provides update

New Delhi: Chelsea will take on Arsenal in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, November 30. Both clubs are in sensational form, making the London derby an exciting fixture in the upcoming weekend. Arsenal are at the top of the points table with 29 points in 12 matches, while Chelsea are placed in the second position with 23 points in 12 games.

Both clubs also emerged victorious in their respective Champions League matches. Arsenal defeated Bayern Munich 3-1 at the Emirates, and Chelsea thrashed Barcelona 3-0 at Stamford Bridge. The Gunners will look to extend their lead at the top, while the Blues will look to close the gap by securing all three points.

Palmer fit to play against Arsenal

Cole Palmer missed Chelsea’s match against Burnley last week and their mid-week UEFA Champions League victory against Barcelona after the midfielder fractured his toe in an accident at home.

He hasn’t played since sustaining a groin injury in Chelsea’s 2-1 loss against Manchester United at Old Trafford in September. Maresca said in the press conference that Cole is available to play and start against Arsenal, and having him back is good news for everyone at the club.

“The fans are happy, his team-mates are happy and the most important thing is that Cole is happy [to be back] because in the end, players want to play games and make the training sessions every day,” he said.

The Chelsea boss further added that Palmer can help them a lot, and he is probably their best player. He also said that they are happy that he is back, and now they have to give him time to be 100 per cent fit.

“He has done fantastic in the past and no doubt he is going to do very good things for this club in the future,” Maresca said. Palmer missed 13 matches in all club competitions, and his return does spark a selection headache for in-form Chelsea.
