National Jamboree 2025: President Draupadi Murmu and CM Yogi appreciated the enthusiasm of youth power

President Draupadi Murmu gave the message of service, environmental protection and team spirit to the youth at the conclusion of the National Jamboree. He said that Scouts and Guides are playing an important role in strengthening the culture, unity and future of the country.

Lucknow. President Draupadi Murmu addressed the youth at the concluding ceremony of the Diamond Jubilee and 19th National Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides. He said that if the youth adopt the principle of Scouts and Guides – nature’s companion, then the earth can become more green, healthy and happy. He also said that the youth are not only the future of the country but also the custodians who carry forward the tradition of its great culture.

He gave the example that just as many lamps can be lit from one lamp, similarly a strong and sensitive person can inspire many people. The President expressed confidence that the youth will use their talents and skills towards the development of the country.

Team spirit increases through competition: Message from President Draupadi Murmu

President Murmu said that more than 35,000 youth from across the country and 2,000 Scouts-Guides from 25 countries participated in the Jamboree. He advised the youth to use this opportunity to understand each other, share ideas and learn from experiences. He said that various competitions strengthen the team spirit and cooperative attitude among the youth. The spirit of cooperation along with competition is very essential for the progress of the nation and society.

Appreciation of the work of Bharat Scouts and Guides

The President said that there are more than 63 lakh Scouts and Guides active in India, which makes it one of the largest organizations in the world. There are more than 25 lakh guides (girls) among them, which is a big achievement. He praised those daughters who have played a role in the upliftment of the society through discipline, dedication and service. He said that Bharat Scouts and Guides has been playing an important role for a long time in providing discipline, nation building and positive direction to the young generation.

Service spirit and identity of national unity organization

According to the President, the biggest characteristic of the Scouts and Guides is the spirit of service—be it an earthquake, an epidemic or any crisis, the organization is always the first to come to the rescue. He said that this organization also strengthens national unity. When youth belonging to different states, languages, religions and cultures train together, the feeling of brotherhood, respect and teamwork increases in them. He expressed happiness to note that with time the organization is also emphasizing on areas like life skills, leadership, environment conservation and personality development.

Preparation of strong youth for the future of the country

President Murmu said that Bharat Scouts and Guides is creating a young generation that is strong, sensitive and committed to improving the future of the nation. He said that India is at an important stage of its development and the goal of a developed India by 2047 will be achieved only when the youth contribute with determination. Initiatives like ‘Mera Yuva’ for youth empowerment are also important steps in this direction.

Message of being ready for challenges

Referring to the organization’s motto – ‘Be Prepared’, the President said that the youth should be ready to face the challenges of the future with confidence. For this, skills like communication skills, leadership, problem solving and team coordination are necessary. He also stressed on environment protection and appreciated the concept of ‘Green Jamboree’ where steps like plastic-free campus and waste segregation have been taken.

Governor Anandiben Patel’s address: Service will create a new India

Governor Anandiben Patel participated in the Jamboree and called it a matter of pride. He said that it was heartening to see the excellent skills of the participants on both the inaugural and concluding occasions. He said that the Jamboree organized in UP after 61 years has strengthened the resolve of self-reliance, Swadeshi, cleanliness and developed India.

The Governor said that Scouting and Guiding not only develops skills but also develops values ​​like compassion, loyalty and humanity. He urged the Scouts-Guides to adopt the things learned here in their life and become a medium of positive change in the society.

Presence of senior leaders and representatives of states

At the closing ceremony, President Murmu was accompanied by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma, UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, National President of Bharat Scouts and Guides Dr. Anil Jain, National Commissioner K.K. Khandelwal and officials of various states were present.

President Murmu, as the chief guest, released the souvenir, while the Governor released the Jamboree magazine and handed over its first copy to the President.

The guests were honored with scarves and mementos. Cultural programs and skill demonstrations—such as Gatka—were also organized by Scouts and Guides from different states. Before the ceremony, the President took the salute of the march past and encouraged the participants.
