The accident occurred when the leaders climbed the stage together to bless the new couple. The incident took place at the wedding reception of the brother of local BJP worker Abhishek Singh Engineer. At the time of the incident, many party leaders including Ballia District BJP President Sanjay Mishra and former MP Bharat Singh were present on the stage. When the leaders were blessing the bride and groom, suddenly the stage collapsed. It is seen in the video that the ceremony is going on in a very peaceful and happy atmosphere.
