Panchak 2025: In Hindu religion and astrology, every date, day, constellation and yoga has been given special importance. One of these is ‘Panchak’, which is considered an inauspicious period in astrology. According to the Panchang, when the Moon transits in Dhanishtha, Shatabhisha, Purva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada and Revati Nakshatra, the period of these five days is called Panchak. According to the Panchang, the second and last Panchak of the month of November has started this time on Thursday, 27 November 2025 at 2:07 pm.
This Panchak will end at 11:18 pm on Monday, December 1, 2025. This period, which lasts for a total of five days, is considered very important and sensitive in astrology. It is believed that some work done during this period can invite trouble even unknowingly.
what happens ‘Panchak’ And why is it considered inauspicious?
According to astrology, Panchak is a group of five constellations (Dhanishtha, Shatabhisha, Purva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada and Revati). The Moon passes through all these constellations in approximately 27 days, but the period of Moon’s transit in the last five constellations is called Panchak.
It is believed that inauspicious actions done during these five days can give painful results up to five times (5). This is the reason why this period is considered prohibited for auspicious works in astrology.

Starting the casting or construction of the roof of the house is also considered prohibited during Panchak. It is believed that repairing the roof leads to discord, unrest and negative energy in the house, or increases distance between family members.

If a person dies during the Panchak period, then this situation is considered the most worrying. It is believed that in Panchak, along with the deceased person, five members of the family or clan are in danger of suffering like death.
In such a situation, according to the scriptures, it is mandatory to perform ‘Panchak Shanti’ ritual before the last rites of the deceased. For this, along with the dead body, five effigies of flour, kush (grass) or wood are made and they are also duly cremated. This eliminates Panchak Dosh.
