Haridwar: Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced the important bathing dates for the Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2027, during a meeting with acharyas and saints of all 13 Akharas on the banks of the Ganga. This was the first time such a planning meeting was held at the sacred river itself.
The Chief Minister declared the following bathing dates for the upcoming Kumbh: Makar Sankranti – 14 January 2027, Mauni Amavasya – 06 February 2027, Vasant Panchami – 11 February 2027, Magh Purnima – 20 February 2027, Mahashivratri (Amrit Snan) – 06 March 2027, Phalguna Amavasya (Amrit Snan) – 08 March 2027, Nav Samvatsar (New Year) – 07 April 2027, Mesha Sankranti (Amrit Snan) – 14 April 2027, Shri Ram Navami – 15 April 2027, Chaitra Purnima – 20 April 2027.

Dhami emphasized that the traditions, needs, and facilities of saints will be given top priority in all decisions related to the Kumbh. He said it was his good fortune to receive blessings and guidance from the saint community, adding that without their inspiration and suggestions, the master plan could not be completed.
State govt is working tirelessly to make Kumbh 2027 grand
The Chief Minister recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of establishing Devbhoomi Uttarakhand as the spiritual capital of the world, and said the state government is working tirelessly to make Kumbh 2027 grand, divine, and historic. He noted that the 2021 Kumbh was shortened due to the pandemic, but the upcoming event will be of special significance, with devotees expected in numbers far greater than in 2010 and 2021.

Preparations are underway
Preparations have already begun, with coordination between state and central security agencies. Departments including police, NDRF, PAC, health, and fire services will ensure safety. Plans for crowd control, traffic management, and emergency response are underway, learning from past experiences. Special teams will also focus on cleanliness, waste management, drainage, and environmental protection at ghats and city areas.
Saints hailed CM’s efforts
Saints and acharyas praised the Chief Minister’s efforts to preserve culture and pledged full support for the divine organization of the Kumbh. Dhami also shared a meal with the saints, symbolizing unity and cooperation.
