Here you will find many types of gajak. Like Kaaghi Gajak, Rewari wali Gajak, Dana Gajak, Til Patti etc. Gajak of North India is especially crisp, sweet and very thin.

Madhya Pradesh, Tillpatti

Gajak is quite popular in many cities of Madhya Pradesh like Gwalior and Bhind. Here it is known as Tilpatti. Gwalior’s Gajak is very sweet because the jaggery in it is cooked for a long time. Because of this its color is also quite dark. The taste of Gwalior’s Gajak is famous far and wide and is liked a lot.

Bihar and Jharkhand, Tillkut

Gajak of Gaya district of Bihar is famous in the entire country. Here Gajak is known as Tilkut, which is made in two ways. Black Tilkut (made from jaggery) and White Tilkut (made from sugar). It is quite hard and its shape is round or flat. But it has no match in taste either.

Maharashtra, Tilchiki / Chikki

Punjab, Gajak/Peanut Chikki

Gajak is known by many names in Punjab, including peanut chikki, chikki and jaggery patti. Gajak of Punjab is also quite popular. The Gajak here is very tasty and also very soft to eat. Distributing Gajak on the festival of Lohri is part of the tradition.

South India, Til Laddu/Palli Patti

In Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, Gajak-like sweets are called Til Unde, Nuvvulu Undalu or Til Laddu and Palli Patti. It is not a strip like Gajak, but is made in the form of round laddu. But its taste will be exactly like that of common Gajak.
