Bhaum Pradosh Vrat December 2025: Pradosh fast is observed on the Trayodashi date of Krishna and Shukla Paksha of every month. This fast has been dedicated to Mahadev, the god of gods. Pradosh Vrat is an auspicious occasion to receive the blessings of Mahadev. On this day, Mahadev and Mother Parvati are worshiped with rituals during Pradosh period. By observing Pradosh fast and worshiping Lord Shiva, there is always happiness in life.
On the day Pradosh Vrat falls, Pradosh Vrat is observed in the name of the war that occurs on that day. Now Bhaum Pradosh fast will be observed in Margashirsha month. Bhaum Pradosh Vrat is believed to be directly related to the planet Mars, hence it is believed that offering some special things to Shivling on this day reduces the negative effects of Mars.

According to the Hindu calendar, the Trayodashi date of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month will start on December 2 next month at 3:57 pm. This date will end on December 3 at 12:25 pm. In such a situation, Bhaum Pradosh fast will be observed on December 2. This Pradosh fast is being called Bhaum Pradosh because this Pradosh fast will fall on Tuesday.
Offer these special things to Shivling
- On the day of Bhaum Pradosh fast, Abhishek of Shivling should be done with rose water. Also sandalwood paste should be applied. Doing this reduces the negative effects of Mars.
- On this day, a handful of lentils should be offered to Shivalinga. He gets relief from debt and wealth increases in the house.
- Honey should be offered to Shivalinga on this day. This improves health and reduces problems in life.
- On this day, ‘Om Namah Shivay’ mantra should be chanted and at least 11 Bel leaves should be offered. By doing this the wishes are fulfilled.
- On this day, Shivalinga should be anointed with Ganga water and cow’s milk. By doing this all sins are destroyed.
- On this day, sweets made of jaggery or red colored sweets should be offered to Lord Shiva. By doing this, blessings remain.
