Baliya. A sensational case has come to light in Ballia district of UP, which has shocked everyone. Strange as it may sound, the fight over the color of the covers of wedding chairs and sofas escalated so much that a 45-year-old tent businessman lost his life. Police have arrested three accused in this case, but many questions are still floating in the air.
After all, why was there such a big controversy regarding the cover of the chair?
Ajit Kumar Singh alias Bodha (45), a resident of Parsia village of Ballia district and running a tent business, was setting up a tent for a wedding ceremony in Majhowa village on the night of 22 November. Meanwhile, around 1 o’clock in the night, an argument broke out over the color of the covers used on chairs and sofas. According to the villagers, the atmosphere was heated at that time, but no one had imagined that this small thing would take the form of a big incident.
Left home at 4 o’clock, but did not return
At around 4 am on the morning of 23 November, Ajit left the tent site and headed towards home. When he did not reach home, the family started fearing something untoward. His uncle Rajkumar Singh lodged a missing report at Haldi police station. Three days later, on November 25, police spotted a motorcycle with a dead body tied to it near the Hukum Chhapra Ghat on the Ganga River. This sight was so scary that the souls of the spectators shuddered. Investigation revealed that the dead body was that of Ajit Kumar Singh.
From marital dispute to murder: Police opened the whole case
On the complaint of the victim’s brother Chandan Kumar Singh, the police registered a case against three people Piyush Kumar Singh (43), Anish Kumar Singh (24) and Ankur Singh (22). According to the FIR, an argument over the color of the cover escalated and the accused allegedly killed Ajit. To hide the incident, they tied Ajit’s body to his Hero Passion bike and threw it in the Ganga river. This method in itself is considered very cruel and mysterious, due to which there is an atmosphere of fear and anger in the entire area.
All three accused arrested, but many mysteries still remain
Bairia Circle Officer Mohammad Faheem Qureshi said that the police have arrested the three accused from Shanti Nagar Tiraha and have sent them on judicial remand. But people in the village are still asking whether the color of the chair cover was really the reason for this murder? Or was there some old enmity behind this? Was there any dispute over anything else in the marriage? Police are also investigating these angles.
