The dispute over the post of Chief Minister is increasing in Karnataka Congress between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy DK Shivakumar. Shivakumar reminded him of the rotational chief minister promise, while Siddaramaiah rejected it. Now the matter is in the court of Congress high command.
Siddaramaiah vs Shivkumar: The power struggle for the top post in Karnataka worsened on Thursday when Chief Minister Siddaramaiah openly targeted his deputy DK Shivakumar. Actually, Shivkumar made a mysterious post in which it was written, Word Power is World Power. That means for us, keeping our promise is the biggest power in the world. Be it a judge, the President or anyone else, including me, everyone has to stick to their word. A few hours later, Siddaramaiah hit back at him by sharing a post. It is believed that the ongoing tussle over the post of Chief Minister in the state may increase further.

What did Siddaramaiah write?
Siddaramaiah wrote in his X post, “A word is not powerful unless it makes the world better for people.” He further wrote, “The mandate given by the people of Karnataka is not just a moment but a responsibility, which is for the entire five years. The Congress Party, which includes me, is living up to its word with full compassion, consistency and courage for its people. Our word for Karnataka is not a slogan, it means the whole world to us.”

Why did the dispute happen?
There is so much controversy over the “word” because the whole matter started with the promise of rotational chief ministerial post, which Team Shivakumar claimed was made during the formation of the state government in 2023. Top party leaders had convinced DK Shivakumar, then a leading contender for the chief ministerial post, to become Siddaramaiah’s deputy with the promise of rotation. Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah claimed that no such promise was made. At the same time, Congress leaders at the Center have maintained silence on this matter.
As soon as Siddaramaiah completes two and a half years, DK opens front
Siddaramaiah has completed two and a half years as the Chief Minister of Karnataka, hence this controversy has come to the fore. Till now, only supporters of both the leaders were involved in the war of words. But with Siddaramaiah completing two and a half years as Chief Minister, DKS has clearly changed its stance.
Now the ball is in the court of Congress high command
Amidst the tussle between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar in Karnataka, the ball is now in the court of the Congress high command. It is believed that Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge may sit with the Gandhi family to discuss this matter. For this, both Siddaramaiah and Shivkumar can be called to Delhi.
