CM Yogi Adityanath conducted a detailed inspection of the Noida International Airport being built in Jewar and directed to ensure safety standards and speedy completion of the construction work. The airport will open with one runway in the first phase.
Gautam Buddha Nagar. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday conducted a detailed on-site inspection of the Noida International Airport being built in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar. He closely observed the actual progress of the terminal building, inauguration ceremony site, security management, traffic management and all construction related activities.
High level review meeting held in airport boardroom
After the inspection, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a high-level review meeting in the boardroom of the airport. Minister of Civil Aviation Ministry, Secretary, senior officers of Civil Aviation Department, DGCA, BCAS, CISF, Airport Authority of India, CEO of Noida International Airport Limited, officials of district and police administration and construction agencies were present in it. In the meeting, a detailed presentation was given on the progress of the project, further action plan and preparations for the inauguration ceremony.
CM gave strict instructions on not getting aerodrome license
During the review, the Chief Minister found that the airport has not yet received the aerodrome license. On this, he directed that all security standards should be fulfilled immediately by coordinating with BCAS and CISF. He said, “This is an ambitious project of the state. Wherever security or construction related work is pending, it should be completed at a fast pace and with the best quality.”
Airport described as new identity of UP’s development
Chief Minister Yogi said that Noida International Airport is going to become the new center of development and global investment in the state. Therefore, construction quality, timely work and departmental coordination should be given top priority. He directed all the concerned agencies to complete the preparations for the inauguration ceremony with full seriousness.
Operations will start with one runway in the first phase
Jewar Airport will start with one runway at the time of inauguration, with a capacity of approximately 1.2 crore passengers annually. When fully developed in the future, the airport will have a total of 5 runways, will be expanded to 11,750 acres and will serve 30 crore passengers every year. With this it will be included among the largest airports in the world.

On this occasion, Public Works Department Minister Brijesh Singh, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Surendra Nagar, Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar, Divisional Commissioner of Meerut Division Bhanu Chandra Goswami, Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh, District Magistrate Medha Rupam and senior officials of governance, administration and police departments were present.
