Mathura Vrindavan Traffic Plan: Traffic diversion will be applicable from 15 to 17 August in Mathura-Vrindavan on Janmashtami 2025. Police have banned the entry of vehicles on several routes to avoid crowds and jams. CM Yogi will also attend the Janmashtami program.
Janmashtami 2025 Traffic Diversion: Mathura, the city of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, has shone with lights and colors before Janmashtami this time. But the challenge of traffic between devotion and celebration is also big. To avoid the crowd and jam, the district administration has implemented traffic diversion from August 15 to August 17. If you are planning to travel to Mathura-Vrindavan these days, then definitely know this traffic plan.
Why was diversion implemented?
This time Janmashtami is falling on Saturday, before August 15 i.e. Independence Day and then Sunday holiday – a long weekend of three days has become a golden opportunity for people to come to Mathura. It is estimated that millions of devotees will arrive here. In such a situation, the entry of vehicles on several major routes for crowd and security management has been banned.

CM Yogi will also see Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s arrival in Mathura is also proposed on Janmashtami. He will reach the university and cow-research institute at 11:25 am on Saturday morning, after which Shri Krishna will visit his birthplace and worship. His program is scheduled till 2 pm.
On which routes will the entry of vehicles stop?
- All commercial vehicles, roadways buses and tractors going from Govardhan Square and Mandi Square towards Bhuteshwar will not be able to go.
- Entry of four-wheeler, tempo, e-rickshaw and two-wheelers will be banned from Bhuteshwar Tiraha towards Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi.
- Buses going from Masani Square to Janmabhoomi, Chowk Bazaar, Lal Darwaza, Gokaran Tiraha, Dwarkadhish Temple and bus stand towards Bhuteshwar will be banned.

Entry of vehicles will also be closed on many other routes including Bharatpur Gate, Mahavidya Colony Barrier, Ganeshra Cut, Bhais Bahaura, BN Poddar College, State Bank Square, Railway Ground, New Bus Stand, Maholi Road and Krishna Nagar power station Tiraha. Charpore, auto and e-rickshaws will also be stopped if needed.
What to do before traveling?
If you are going to Mathura-Vrindavan, then decide the journey route in advance and follow the traffic police advisory. The administration has appealed to the devotees to follow the parking system and the prescribed routes, so that the festival can be enjoyed without any inconvenience.
