Moringa which is also known as drumstick. This is no less than a boon for health. You too must have heard a lot about it. Moringa contains antioxidant properties along with nutrients like protein, vitamin B6, vitamin C, iron, vitamin B2, vitamin A and magnesium, which are beneficial for health in many ways. Most people like to consume its powder by mixing it in water. But you can include it in your diet in different ways.
Protein and fiber are found in Moringa. Therefore it is also considered beneficial for weight loss. Vitamin C, K and antioxidants present in it help in strengthening immunity naturally. You can make these things from Moringa during winter season.
Drink drumstick soup in winter
Ingredients – 2 cups drumstick, 1 inch ginger, 1 small tomato, 1/2 tsp turmeric, salt as per taste, 1/2 tsp black pepper powder, 1 tsp desi ghee and 1/2 tsp cumin.
Recipe – Put the drumstick, ginger, tomato, turmeric and salt in a pressure cooker along with 2 cups of water and let it cook for 4 whistles. After this, crush it well and filter it. If needed, you can add some water. Now add ghee and cumin seeds in a small pan. Mix it in drumstick paste and boil for some time. After this serve. If you want, you can also use green coriander leaves for garnishing.
Moringa Sambar
Ingredients – If you like to eat sambar, you can also add moringa to it. To make this, you will need 1/2 cup arhar dal (toor dal), 2 drumsticks i.e. moringa, 6-7 small onions or 1 big onion cut into thick pieces, 1 tomato cut into thick pieces, 1 tomato finely chopped, 1 whole dry red chilli, 8 to 10 curry leaves, 1/3 cup tamarind pulp or as per taste and 1 tablespoon sambar powder.

Recipe- To make this, first of all clean the pigeon pea and wash it with water. After this, add about one and a half cup water, roughly chopped tomatoes, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric and salt in a pressure cooker, cover it with a lid and let it whistle for 2 whistles. After this, open the lid of the cooker and mash the dal well. Now peel the drumstick and wash it thoroughly. Now heat oil in a pan and add fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, cumin and hessian seeds. Now add onion, curry leaves and dry red chilli and fry well. After this, add finely chopped tomatoes to it and cook it until it becomes a little soft. Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and sambar masala, mix well and fry for 2 to 3 minutes.

Now add one and a half cup of water and salt as per taste and cover and cook on low flame for 10 minutes. Now after 10 minutes add boiled dal in it and mix well. In this you can add salt and water as per your need. Now cook it for 5 to 10 minutes. Now add tamarind pulp into it and mix. If you want, you can also add jaggery along with tamarind. Mix it and cook for 4 to 5 minutes. Then Moringa Sambar is ready.
