What happened was that when an entrepreneur came to know about one thing related to the personal expenses of his own employee, he was surprised. There is often debate about the financial condition of the employees and their lifestyle, but this time the matter was a little different. Kawaljeet Singh, co-founder of Kharak Singh Da Dhaba and founder of The China Door, said that an employee working in his company, who gets a monthly salary of only Rs 26,000, bought an iPhone worth Rs 70,000. He was stunned to see this and shared the entire story on X (Twitter), after which there was a flood of reactions from people.
How did the staff buy an iPhone worth Rs 70,000?
Kawaljit Singh told that this employee was earlier associated with the company as a delivery driver, but by working hard and honestly, he is handling the local operations today. To buy the phone, he first took 1 month’s advance salary from the company, paid Rs 14000 in cash and financed the remaining Rs 30000, which he will repay through EMI of around Rs 3000 every month for the next 12 months. After the post went viral, two types of things emerged on the internet. Some people said that employees should do better with their financial planning and that one should not spend so much on an expensive phone given their financial situation. On the other hand, many users surrounded Kawaljeet Singh, saying that if the salary is so low, what should the employee do? One user wrote: “He should meet a good financial advisor who will explain to him what he is doing. Another user commented – It is not right to give him a low salary and then embarrass him online. A third user said that this had also happened to his staff, but later it was found out that his employee is a YouTuber and content creator and for him this phone was an investment.
