Relief to hotels, restaurants and industries, LPG supply again as before.

Non-Domestic Packed LPG

The government has taken a big decision for industrial and commercial sectors. The Central Government has removed all sector-based restrictions imposed on the supply of non-domestic packed LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas). With this, the LPG supply of this category has been restored to the level before the West Asia crisis. This decision is expected to provide big relief to hotels, restaurants, small industries and other business establishments.

This step of the government has come at a time when there has been improvement in the availability of LPG in recent times and the supply of imported gas is also becoming normal.

Relief on bulk LPG supply also

The government has also taken a relief decision regarding the supply of bulk LPG. The supply of bulk LPG was temporarily stopped during the rising tensions in West Asia. Now the government has partially restored it and allowed supply up to 50 percent of the pre-crisis consumption level.

This step will benefit those industries and large commercial consumers who depend on bulk LPG for their operations. Experts believe that this will reduce pressure on production costs and provide ease of operation to businesses.

Improvement in LPG production and import situation

The government has said that domestic LPG production in the country has improved and adequate consignment of imported LPG is expected to be available in the coming time. Keeping this in view, it has been decided to reduce the quantity of C3 and C4 gas streams sent to the LPG pool.

Now more of these gases will be made available for other industrial uses, which will provide additional raw materials to many industries.

Domestic consumers will not be affected

The government has clarified that these decisions will not have any negative impact on domestic LPG consumers. The availability of domestic LPG will be completely secure and the total indigenous LPG production in the country will not be kept less than 40 thousand metric tons (TMT) per day.

According to experts, removal of supply restrictions and partial resumption of bulk LPG will provide relief to the industry, while the availability of gas will remain smooth for domestic consumers as well. This decision is being considered an important step towards maintaining stability and supply balance in the energy sector.
