Pressure of family responsibilities increases mental stress
According to Siddharth, during the conversation there came a moment when the driver talked openly about his mental condition. The driver told that due to family responsibilities and financial pressure many times he had thoughts of ending his life. However, he said that because of his family he never took such a step. Siddharth wrote that the driver said this in a very casual manner, but it was clearly felt that the pressure of taking care of the family was troubling him from within. Despite this, he kept explaining his views with a smile the whole time.
Mixed reaction of people on social media
This post quickly went viral and social media users gave different reactions to it. Some people sympathized with the driver’s circumstances and said that it is not easy to run a family amid rising inflation and limited earnings. At the same time, some users also raised questions on his financial decisions.
Some users raised questions regarding 3 children
One user wrote, “In today’s times, it is difficult to understand the decision of having three children. Even if one earns Rs 12,000 per day, it is a huge responsibility.” Another user said, “If I had known that with my earnings I would not be able to provide a better life for my family, I would not have married or had three children. His hard work is appreciated, but his decisions are also responsible for his current situation.”
There was also discussion on rising inflation and income gap.
Many people linked the issue to broader economic conditions, not just personal decisions. One user wrote, “The cost of living and daily needs is continuously increasing, but people’s income is not increasing at the same pace.” Another person said, “If we look at it from a broader perspective, people in many countries of the world are facing economic challenges. Even people living in developed economies are struggling to strike a balance between spending and earning.”
Debate continues on financial decisions and family responsibilities
Reacting to the post, some people again emphasized that the decision to have three children was a big financial decision despite limited income. One user commented “Becoming a father to three children while working a blue-collar job was definitely a personal choice.” However, many people believe that the bigger message of this story is that millions of people are struggling daily between rising inflation, family responsibilities and mental pressure. This is the reason why this post is connecting with a large number of people on social media.
