Independence Day 2025: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel saluted the tricolor by hoisting the flag in Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of 79th Independence Day. The Chief Minister announced the ‘Agenda for 2035’ and 100 crore Chief Minister Gramothan Yojana.
Independence Day 2025: This time the celebration of Independence Day was something special in Mahatma Gandhi’s holy birthplace Porbandar. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, while saluting the tricolor, announced the agenda for 2035, which will prove to be a milestone towards making Gujarat ‘developed Gujarat’ by 2047. The Chief Minister specially mentioned that the development journey started after the establishment of Gujarat in 1960 as a separate state of Gujarat has received a new direction, new energy and momentum in the 21st century under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Riding in an open jeep, I came to know to the people of Porbandar
Riding in an open jeep in the program, CM accepted the greetings of the people of Porbandar. 685 soldiers saluted the national flag with a disciplined parade, while the horse show, bike stunt and dog show won the hearts of the people. Agenda for 2035 announced
The Chief Minister, while wishing the 79th independence festival to the citizens of the state, announced that till the completion of 75 years of the establishment of Gujarat in the year 2035, the government is bringing ‘Agenda for 2035’ with the aim of ‘prosperous state, capable citizens’ to prove the new dimension of all -round development and more oriented administration. He said that this ‘Agenda for 2035’ will become guide with the entire government’s approach to realize the vision of ‘developed Gujarat 2047’ based on the target of ‘developed India 2047’ given by the Prime Minister. On this occasion, he also made important announcements for development and timely urban development organizing in rural areas of the state from Porbandar land.
100 crore gramothan scheme will also be launched
The Chief Minister announced that the Chief Minister Gramotthan Yojana will be launched with a provision of Rs 100 crore, so that Tehsil Headquarters Gram Panchayats will be developed on the urban lines. Besides, GIS based development scheme will also be prepared for 100 Town Planning Scheme and 55 small cities.
The Chief Minister said that the gram panchayats which are the tehsil headquarters and which have not been merged with the municipality, will develop all round and develop them on the urban lines and create physical facilities. He said that the purpose of this event is that big villages should become an alternative to cities and be motivated to go to these big villages from civil cities.
Plan will be ready for township
The Chief Minister also announced to prepare a geographical information system (GIS) based development plan for more than 100 Town Planning (TP) scheme and 55 cities with a population of up to one lakh for well -planned development of small cities during the urban development year being celebrated this year.
CM said that Gujarat today is a leader in the country with ₹ 1.96 lakh NSDP per person. He strengthened the resolve of self -reliant India by giving the mantras of ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Local for Global’. He mentioned achievements like 11 lakh houses built in urban and rural areas, 2.90 crore people Ayushman Arogya Card, 3 crore 26 lakh Antyodaya people under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Counting the work done for tribal welfare
CM Bhupendra Patel said that under the Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana-2 for the omnipotent of the tribals, a large amount of Rs 30,121 crore has been allocated this year. He informed in the context of the 150th birth anniversary of the tribals of the tribals, that till now, a scholarship assistance of more than Rs 4300 crore has been provided for the education of tribal children.
Bhupendra Patel said that startups are strengthening ecosystem with the skills of youth power. Five lakh ‘Lakhpati Didi’ and 21 percent of women participation in women operated milk circles have empowered women power. The Chief Minister also discussed organizing the 12 ‘Garh Gujarat High Speed Corridor’, Deesa to Pipavav ‘Namo Shakti Expressway’ and Somnath-Dwarka Expressway for the development of the state’s infrastructure development.
