story of ram sita

Story of Ram Sita: Shri Ram married Mother Sita in the court of King Janak by placing a string on Pinaka bow. Pinaka’s bow broke while stringing it. After some time after the marriage, Shri Ram, Mother Sita and Lakshman went into exile for 14 years, because Kaikeyi had asked King Dasharatha for the throne for his son Bharat and 14 years of exile for Lord Ram. During her exile, mother was abducted by Ravana, the ruler of Lanka. Ravana was killed by Shri Ram.

After this, the kingdom of Lanka was handed over to Ravana’s younger brother Vibhishana. According to the story of Uttar Ramayana, after 14 years of exile and the killing of Ravana, Shri Ram, Mother Janaki and brother Lakshman returned. Shortly after coming to Ayodhya, fingers were started being raised on the character of Mother Sita. Then Lord Shri Ram had abandoned Mother Sita. After the sacrifice of Shri Ram, Mother Sita stayed in the ashram of Maharishi Valmiki. She gave birth to two sons Luv and Kush.

Luv and Kush called themselves the sons of Mother Sita.

One day, Luv and Kush, through singing, declared themselves to be the sons of Mother Sita in front of Shri Ram in the royal palace of Ayodhya. As soon as the people of Ayodhya got the news of Shri Ram’s sons, they jumped with joy. Then Maharishi Valmiki reached the royal palace of Ayodhya with Mother Sita and Luv Kush. He told about the purity of Mother Sita.

After this Shri Ram said that if Sita herself gives proof of her character then he will accept her. After this, Mother Sita said that if she was pure and had never thought about anyone other than Lord Shri Ram, then she should merge into Mother Earth. He said, O Mother Earth, if I have always remained pure, then take me into your lap.

God intended to destroy the earth

On hearing the words of Mother Sita, the earth immediately burst and Goddess Dhara took Mother Sita with herself. Seeing the strange sight, everyone in Ram Mahal stood still. As soon as Mother Sita entered the earth, Shri Ram felt unbearable pain. Therefore, he decided in a moment that he would destroy the entire earth. However, Lord Brahma stopped him and asked him to remember his Bhagwat Vaishnav form.
