Uttar Pradesh News: Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA), established three and a half decades ago, has emerged as the engine of industrial development of Purvanchal in the last eight years due to the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the investor friendly policy of the government. Preparations are in full swing to celebrate the three-day 36th Foundation Day of GIDA from 29th November to 1st December to commemorate the progress story, the concrete form of the current projects and to draw a blueprint for future investment and employment. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the GIDA Foundation Day celebrations on 29th November. On this occasion, he will pave the way for investment worth thousands of crores of rupees and employment for thousands of people through distribution of land allotment certificates and inauguration and foundation stone laying of industrial units. On this occasion, he will also inaugurate the state level trade fair being organized by GIDA.
GIDA was established on 30 November 1989.
Although GIDA was established on 30 November 1989, the interest of investors increased here after Yogi Adityanath became the Chief Minister in 2017. Before 2017, there were only a few industries here, whereas in the last eight years a series of industries have come up. Under the leadership of CM Yogi, the strengthened law and order system, expansion of infrastructure and connectivity and encouraging policies for investors have created such an environment that GIDA has become a favorite destination not only for local investors but from all over the country. Along with the industrial policy of the government, CM Yogi’s personal interest towards GIDA also played an important role in creating the eco system of industrial development. The result of this is that in the last few years, in Gida area, Cayan Industries has earned Rs 1200 crore, PepsiCo franchisee Varun Beverages has earned Rs 1100 crore, Ankur Udyog has earned Rs 500 crore, India Autowheels has earned Rs 400 crore, SD International has earned Rs 300 crore, CP Milk and Foods (Gyan Dairy) has earned Rs 118 crore, Tatva Plastics has earned Rs 105 crore and Kapila Krishi Udyog has earned Rs 100 crore. Have invested Rs. In the eight years since the change in the government’s approach, Gorakhpur has received industrial investments worth Rs 11618.75 crore in 497 industrial units, which has paved the way for employment for 39448 people. In comparison, from 2012 to 2017, industrial investment in relation to two units was only Rs 29.33 crore and the number of employment through it was only 307.
Proposed investment of Rs 6139 crore from land allotment
According to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GIDA, Mrs. Anuj Malik, in the 36th year of its establishment, GIDA has allotted 116 industrial plots to investors in the current year with a total area of 8 lakh 71 thousand 841 square meters. Regarding this land allotment, an investment of about Rs 6139 crore and creation of 11072 jobs is proposed. Out of the allotted plots, allotment letters will be distributed to five investors by the Chief Minister on the occasion of GIDA Foundation Day. Along with this, the foundation stone of 38 units with an investment of Rs 134 crore 15 lakh and the inauguration of 33 units prepared with an investment of Rs 123 crore 82 lakh are also proposed to be done by the CM. These units, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone, will open doors of employment for more than 27 hundred people.
ODOP will also be seen in the trade fair
A state level trade fair is also being organized by GIDA on its foundation day. In this, along with the products of big companies, local products, especially ODOP, will also be showcased. There will be separate stalls to give a better platform to local products and ODOPs. Exhibitions of development and public welfare schemes of many government departments will also be seen in the trade fair.
114 infrastructure works will be inaugurated and foundation stone will be laid
Inauguration and foundation stone laying of 114 infrastructure development works (costing Rs 408 crore) in various industrial sectors being developed by GIDA is also proposed by CM Yogi on GIDA Day. These works include projects related to roads, drains, culverts and electricity.
CM will give certificates to NIELIT trained youth
On the directions of the Chief Minister, GIDA has signed an MoU with NIELIT (National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology) for the skill development of local youth and has provided a 9,280 square meter campus and self-built building free of cost. Till now, training has been provided to 817 youth in 13 courses like Machine Learning, Java Programming, Triple C, O Level, Network Basics. It is proposed to distribute certificates to 5 youth trained from NIELIT GIDA Center at the hands of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the foundation day celebration of GIDA.
One thousand new jobs will be created from the flatted factory
Keeping in mind the needs of small entrepreneurs, GIDA is developing a flatted factory complex in G+3 multi-storey structure in an area of 10,800 square meters exclusively for plug and play industries. In this, a total of 80 units with all necessary infrastructure are proposed to be allotted. Once this project becomes operational, about 1000 new jobs are likely to be created with a capital investment of Rs 200 crore.
Will prove to be a game changer in industrial development
Dhuriapar Industrial Township: In view of the increasing interest of entrepreneurs in Gorakhpur, on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Dhuriapar Industrial Township is being developed on 6876 acres in Dakshinanchal of Gorakhpur by GIDA. This township will prove to be a game changer in terms of industrial development. 800 acres of land is being acquired in the first phase of the project of this industrial township. Out of the land acquired so far, land has been given to two industrial groups. In this, 46.63 acres of land has been allotted to Adani Group and 60.48 acres of land has been allotted to Shreyash Distillery-Energy Limited for the unit of Ambuja Cement. With these two allocations, an investment of Rs 4200 crore and employment generation for 6500 persons is proposed in the first phase of this industrial area.
PepsiCo, Coca Cola and Campa also liked it
Gorakhpur: The environment of industrial development created in Gorakhpur has also been liked by PepsiCo, Coca Cola and Campa. The bottling plant of Varun Beverages, a franchisee of multinational PepsiCo, established with an investment of Rs 1100 crore, is already in production here. Bhoomi pujan of Coca Cola plant has been done. For this, 40 acres of land has been allotted in Gida Sector 27. In the first phase, a plant is being set up here with an investment of Rs 700 crore. In the new phase, the group has also selected land in Dhuriyapar Industrial Township of GIDA for setting up a cold drink unit of Campa brand owned by Reliance Group.
