The Building Construction Department of Bihar Government has given the final ultimatum to former Chief Minister Rabri Devi to vacate the government bungalow at 10 Circular Road by June 29.

Patna (Bihar): The Building Construction Department of Bihar has given a last warning to former Chief Minister Rabri Devi. The department has said that they should vacate their government residence at 10 Circular Road by June 29. If she does not do so, legal action will be taken against her under the Bihar Government Premises Act. This notice was issued on June 22, in which they have been given a final time of seven days to vacate the bungalow.

Action will be taken against Rabri Devi after 7 days

  • The department has clearly said that if the house is not vacated within the stipulated time, then strict action will be taken as per the rules. It has also been told in this notice that reminders have been sent to Rabri Devi several times in this matter. There is also mention of him being allotted a second residence at 39 Harding Road.
  • According to the notice, this seven-day deadline will end on June 29, after which Rabri Devi will have to vacate the bungalow at 10 Circular Road by the end of June. Earlier, in May 2026 also, the Bihar government had issued a notice to Rabri Devi asking her to vacate the bungalow at 10 Circular Road, Patna within 15 days. This notice was issued on 29 May.

Will Rabri Devi vacate the government bungalow?

Rabri Devi had said that she would not vacate her government residence located at 10 Circular Road in Patna.
Talking to journalists, Rabri Devi had insisted that she would stay in the same residence despite the government’s instructions.
She said, “If he wants, he can call the force to vacate the bungalow, but I will not vacate this place.”
This bungalow at 10 Circular Road has been associated with the family of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for a long time. Even when Rabri Devi was the Chief Minister, she used to work from this residence. The complex remains an important political address for the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
