Security forces have achieved great success in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. A total of 41 Naxalites surrendered, including 32 rewarded Naxalites. These Naxalites, who have a reward of more than Rs 1 crore, have resolved to return to the mainstream.
The dense forest of Bijapur has been enduring a strange mixture of gunfire and silence for years. But on Wednesday morning the area saw a different scene. Where once the security forces were ambushed, now in the same area a long queue of Naxalites was standing ready to surrender. This scene has brought a great hope not only for Bijapur but for the entire Chhattisgarh.
41 Naxalites surrender, 32 had huge rewards
A total of 41 Naxalites surrendered before Bijapur police and security forces on Wednesday. Of these, 32 Naxalites were rewarded, whose total reward amount was approximately Rs 1 crore 19 lakh. This is considered to be the biggest mass surrender of this year so far.

Reward of Rs 8 lakh each on 9 Naxalites

- Sukhram Hemla
- Manjula Hemla alias Shanti
- Mangali Madvi alias Shanti
- Jairam Kadiyam
- Pando Madkam aka Chandni
Reward of Rs 5 lakh each on 3 Naxalites
- Mata Kadiam alias Mangal
- Jamli Kadiyam
- Jogi Madkam alias Malti
Reward of Rs 2 lakh each on 12 Naxalites, reward of Rs 1 lakh each on 8 Naxalites
Each Naxalite received incentive amount of Rs 50 thousand
Every Naxalite who surrenders has been given an immediate incentive of Rs 50,000 by the government. Officials said that all the Naxalites want to return to the mainstream of society by expressing faith in the Indian Constitution and democratic system. They will be given the benefit of further rehabilitation schemes so that they can live a dignified and safe life.
All the surrendered Naxalites were associated with many big Naxalite organizations.
These Naxalites were actively associated with the following organizations:
- Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee
- Telangana State Committee
- Dhamtari-Gariaband-Nuapad Division
According to the police, this surrender is a sign of the weakening hold of Naxal organizations.
Situation of Naxal front in the district
- 528 Maoists were arrested this year
- 560 Maoists returned to the mainstream
- 144 Maoists were killed in encounters
This is one of the biggest achievements for the security forces and the hope of establishing peace in Naxal affected areas has become stronger.
