Fake PAN-Aadhaar card made from Nano Banana, Techie shows the dangerous truth of AI

A techie from Bengaluru has warned against Google’s Gemini AI tool creating fake Aadhaar and PAN cards like real ones. This tool can create identity cards with accuracy, which increases the risk of fraud.

Bengaluru News: A techie from Bengaluru has warned against creating fake Aadhaar and PAN cards using Google’s Gemini Nano Banana AI tool. An ex-user named Harveen Singh Chaddha has shared pictures of Aadhaar card and PAN card made from Gemini, which is raising concerns over the accuracy of Nano making. Harveen has proved in his X post that Nano Banana can make fake identity cards with great accuracy. Harveen Singh Chaddha used nanotechnology to create life-like PAN and Aadhaar cards in the name of a fictitious person named ‘Twitterpreet Singh’.

Nano Banana Pro accuracy risks

The problem is that Google’s Gemini Nano Banana Pro easily creates fake Aadhaar cards, PAN cards and passport photos. Because they look so much like the original, photos made with Nano Banana are difficult to recognize at a glance. The concern is that this may give fraudsters an opportunity to defraud people by creating fake identity cards. Technology experts are also expressing concern about Google’s Nano Banana Pro.

Bengaluru-based techie Harveen Singh Chaddha has emphasized on the dangers of Nano Banana Pro in his post. Harveen Singh Chadha says that although making Nano is fine, the biggest problem is that it makes fake identity cards that look like real ones. Harveen says that the verification systems of image generation tools often fail. Harveen Singh Chaddha also proved this by creating fake PAN card and Aadhaar card of a fictitious person. In both the pictures shared by him, the cards look real at a glance.

watermarks in gemini photos

All photos created using Gemini have a watermark. Google provides this facility so that it can be identified whether the photo is made by AI or not. However, the watermark can be removed later using Photoshop. This watermark is in the lower right corner of the AI-generated photo. But the danger is also that it can be made to disappear using Photoshop etc.

Google uses SynthID to identify images, text, audio and video generated by AI. SynthID is an invisible digital watermark, developed by Google DeepMind, that is automatically added to all content created with Gemini AI. However, SynthID also has its shortcomings. It can only recognize the authenticity of photos created using Gemini. It cannot check images created with other image generation tools like ChatGPT.

Chatgpt also for making fake

By the way, such concerns are not limited to Gemini Nano Banana Pro only. ChatGPT, which was the first to introduce the feature of creating fake images using the prompt, also faced problems. Now, this problem has become even more serious with the advent of nano banana tools. Because Nano Create and New Nano Create Pro Tools create better and more realistic looking images than ChatGPT.

“Don’t be afraid, create awareness”

While explaining the motive behind this post, Techi Harveen Singh Chadha said that his aim is to create awareness. “Many people are scared, but the purpose of the post was not to create fear but to spread awareness. I wanted to show what today’s AI models can do, as they work incredibly fast and with much fewer mistakes than older methods. At the same pace that these models are getting better, our traditional verification systems also need to improve,” Harveen Singh Chadha added.
