Online Application for Updates
Yes, you can apply online to update/correct your Aadhar card data. This service is provided by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). You can update information like name, gender, date of birth, address and mobile number.
Biometric Update (Fingerprint, Iris and Photo)
(i) If done for the first time between 5 to 7 years of age: Free
(ii) If done for the first or second time between the age of 15 to 17 years: Free
(iii) If you update after this, it will cost Rs 125.
Note: These updates are free if made between the ages of 7 and 15. This facility is available only till 30.09.2026.
Demographic Update Name
Now let’s talk about updating name, sex/gender, date of birth, address, mobile number or email address. If you update all these along with biometric update, then it is free. Whereas, if you update all these separately then you have to pay a fee of Rs 75.
Free service on using Aadhaar portal
According to the official website of UIDAI, if you want to make corrections or updates in document updates like name, gender, date of birth and address and submit the documents as proof of identity and address then you have to do it online.
You can use the Aadhaar portal https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/du for this. You will not have to pay a single penny for such updates and this online facility is free till 14.06.2026.
If you go to the Aadhaar center to update them, you will have to pay Rs 75.
