Take lukewarm water in a tub and soak the fur blanket in it. Now add a little mild liquid detergent or baby shampoo and soak the blanket for about 10-15 minutes but do not rub it. Stir lightly with your hands so that the shampoo or liquid detergent gets mixed completely. By wetting in water, the dirt of the blanket will automatically settle at the bottom and the blanket will become clean. Then soak the blanket in 2 to 3 liters of water and clean it with detergent. Hang the blanket at a high place without squeezing it and spread it after some time.

You should clean a fur blanket in a washing machine only if the label allows it. You have to choose gentle/delicate mode while washing the fur blanket. Also use normal water. You can use mild liquid detergent. Don’t keep the spin too fast. Then you should avoid drying the blanket in the machine. If you want, you can use a spoonful of hair conditioner in the last rinse as this makes the fur of the blanket softer. Avoid using any kind of bleach in blankets.
