Hero MotoCorp Confirms Multiple New Electric Two-Wheelers – What To Expect In Future

Hero MotoCorp, is gearing up for a major development and expansion in its electric vehicle (EV) portfolio, as during its Q2 FY26 earnings call, the company confirmed that several new electric two-wheelers are already under development which will mark a strong shift towards cleaner and future-ready mobility.

Hero MotoCorp’s entry with a bigger EV lineup means more affordable options, wider availability and faster EV adoption across the country.

Hero’s Chief Business Officer for EVs, Kausalya Nandakumar, said that the company is deeply focused on expanding the Vida electric portfolio, as Vida is Hero’s electric sub-brand and its scooters, especially the Vida VX2, are already gaining popularity.

She confirmed that Hero has multiple new EVs in development for the coming future, although launch timelines and model names have not yet been revealed. The company says it is continuously investing in new technology, product development and charging/battery solutions to support this expansion of two wheelers in the Indian Market.

Hero reported its highest-ever EV market share of 11.7% this quarter. In 48 towns, the company already holds over 20% of the EV market and is among the top two EV players in 56 towns across India.

The Vida VX2 has been a major player in this growth, especially in Hero’s “core markets.” The company also underscored that customer interest is rising due to Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), which is a model where riders can swap batteries instead of purchasing them outright and that reduces upfront costs.

Although Hero has not revealed specific details, but what we know by now is that several new electric two-wheelers are under development, product expansion will be supported by the government’s PLI scheme and cost optimisation, rising EV volumes are expected to help Hero achieve long-term profitability in the EV business and the brand will continue to invest heavily in new EV technologies and features.

Hero MotoCorp says its EV business is now growing rapidly across the country. It is already the No. 1 or No. 2 EV brand in more than 50 cities, which includes major markets like Delhi and Mumbai.
The company also noted that electric scooters now make up around a quarter of all scooter sales in India and Hero expects this share to increase even further, especially with multiple new EVs planned in the coming years.
