There is important news for crores of members of the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). EPFO has announced three days of scheduled maintenance to upgrade its online claim system. Due to this, services related to EPF claim submission and processing will remain temporarily closed from June 26 to June 28, 2026.
According to EPFO, this step is being taken to improve the service quality, make claim processing faster and effective and provide a better experience to the users. The organization will work on integrating its databases and upgrading software systems.
You will not be able to submit claims on these dates
According to the notice issued by EPFO, new claims will not be able to be submitted on the portal from 12 noon on June 26, 2026 to 11:59 pm on June 28, 2026. Apart from this, the facility of claim processing will also not be available during this period.
This will also affect those members who have already submitted claims. Processing of such cases will be started only after the completion of the upgradation work. EPFO has said that all services will be restored normally from June 29, 2026.
Services on UMANG app will also be affected
UMANG app users using EPFO services may also have to wait for a few days. According to the information available on the app, EPFO related services will be affected due to scheduled maintenance till July 2, 2026.
Through the UMANG app, members use many facilities like checking PF balance, filing claims, availing UAN related services, registering complaints and applying for life certificate. However, some of these services will not be available during the maintenance period.
8.25 percent interest will be available on EPF
Meanwhile, there is also relief news for EPFO subscribers. The government has approved 8.25 percent interest rate on EPF deposits for the financial year 2025-26. With this, interest amount will be deposited in the PF accounts of crores of employees.
Check your PF balance like this
Even if the services of EPFO portal or app are affected, members can still know their PF balance through missed call and SMS. Information about PF balance can be obtained by giving a missed call on 011-22901406 from the registered mobile number. Apart from this, by sending SMS by writing EPFOHO UAN ENG to 7738299899, information about balance and recent contribution is also available. However, to avail these facilities, it is necessary to link UAN with Aadhaar, PAN and bank account.
Do important work in advance
Experts say that those employees who have to file PF claim or use any EPFO service in the near future, should complete their work before June 26. With this, they will not have to face any kind of problem while the system is closed.
