From organic farming to solar energy: How is Patanjali saving environment?

New Delhi: Patanjali Ayurved claims that it is actively working towards environmental protection through organic farming, solar energy, and waste management. The company is actively involved in developing organic fertilisers, promoting solar energy, and composting waste.

Patanjali Ayurved states that through its environmental initiatives, it is making significant contributions to environmental protection. Patanjali claims that under the leadership of Swami Ramdev, the company has not only promoted Ayurvedic products but has also taken several innovative steps in sectors such as sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and waste management.

These initiatives aim to have a positive impact on the environment and ensure a healthy future for future generations.

Promoting Organic Farming

Patanjali stated that it has taken several steps to promote organic farming. Through the Patanjali Organic Research Institute (PORI), the company has developed organic fertilisers and organic pesticides, which reduce dependence on chemical fertilisers.

These products improve soil fertility and enhance crop quality. PORI has trained 8,413 farmers across eight states and helped them adopt organic farming. This has reduced soil, water, and air pollution and also promoted biodiversity.

Work in Solar Energy

Patanjali is also active in the solar energy sector. Patanjali claims that the company has made products like solar energy, inverters, and batteries more affordable, promoting clean energy in rural areas. Swami Ramdev’s vision is to establish ‘Patanjali Energy Centres’ in every village and town, which will help reduce carbon emissions. This initiative not only benefits the environment but also provides affordable electricity to rural communities.

Innovation in Waste Management

Patanjali stated that Patanjali University has launched a unique waste management initiative, converting dry waste into compost and preparing yagya materials from cow dung. It is a unique blend of ancient wisdom and modern technology, helping to reduce waste and create sustainable materials. This initiative not only keeps the environment clean but also promotes cultural values.

Patanjali stated that the company has also prioritised initiatives such as water conservation and tree planting. The company has adopted water-saving techniques and conducted large-scale tree planting campaigns. These steps are important for maintaining ecological balance and combating climate change.
