Tata Sierra SUV Returns Today – A New-Age Comeback Of An Indian Icon

India is all set to witness the return of one of its most loved SUV names ‘Tata Sierra’. After years of rumours, teasers and endless nostalgia among car enthusiasts, Tata Motors will finally launch the all-new Sierra today.

For many Indians, the Sierra brings back memories of the 1990s, when it was one of the coolest and most unique SUVs on the road, but the 2025 version is not just a revival of an old model as it is a fully modern, feature-rich family SUV designed for today’s buyers.

This new Sierra is a five-door SUV, unlike the original three-door version. Tata has used the classic shape as inspiration but designed it with a fresh and futuristic approach.

The 2025 Tata Sierra keeps its iconic stance, but the styling is completely updated. At the front, it gets a full-width LED light bar, projector headlamps and flush door handles, which are similar to what we notice in high-end cars. The roof is blacked out, honoring the original Sierra’s curved rear glass design.

Noticing the side, the SUV gets roof rails, black cladding and large 19-inch alloy wheels and the rear features connected LED tail-lamps and a modern dual-tone bumper.
Technology

From the inside, Tata has loaded the Sierra with technology which is seen in premium SUVs. The cabin has a black-and-grey theme, three 12.3-inch screens which are one for the driver, one for entertainment and another for the front passenger.

Other premium features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, wireless charging, dual-zone AC, rear sunshades, a 360-degree camera and an electronic parking brake. This SUV is also expected to get Level-2 ADAS, which will include lane-departure warning and other safety assists to help avoid accidents.

Tata will offer the Sierra with three engine options- 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5L turbo-petrol and 1.5L diesel. Both manual and automatic gearboxes are expected.

Safety is a major focus for Tata, as the Sierra is expected to feature six airbags, ESC, TPMS, parking sensors and ADAS.

This new incarnated Tata Sierra is expected to start at around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom), which places it in the competitive compact SUV segment.

With modern design, strong features and multiple engine options, Tata seems ready to bring back a legend in a brand-new avatar.
