Superstar Shahrukh Khan has remembered Dharmendra on X and described him as a father figure in his emotional post. 89-year-old Dharmendra died on Monday (24 November) at his home in Mumbai, where he was undergoing treatment for the last 12 days. It was done on Monday afternoon at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai, in which Shahrukh Khan also attended and even after all the celebs returned from there, remained there till the end with Dharmendra’s sons Sunny and Bobby. When he reached home at night, he wrote an emotional post in the name of Dharmendra, which remains in the news.

Shahrukh got his first film because of Dharmendra
When Shahrukh Khan was struggling, Hema Malini saw him in the TV serial ‘Fauji’ and called him to meet. He auditioned Shahrukh for his film ‘Dil Aashna Hai’. But he was not able to convince Hema Malini with this. Hema had even reportedly called Shahrukh ugly because of his dry hair and short height. Later, when Dharmendra saw Shahrukh Khan, he was extremely impressed by him. He said to Hema, “Be sure to take this boy.” After this Hema cast Shahrukh Khan in the film. ‘Dil Aashna Hai’ may have been released after ‘Deewana’, but it was the first Bollywood film in which he was cast.
