Two powerful earthquakes in the South American country Venezuela have caused massive devastation. The first earthquake of 7.2 magnitude occurred at 6:34 pm local time on Wednesday evening, while a minute later a second tremor of 7.5 magnitude was felt at 6:35 pm. According to Indian time, these tremors occurred at 3:34 and 3:35 am on Thursday. After the earthquake, there have been reports of heavy damage in many areas. So far, 32 people have been confirmed dead, while more than 700 people are said to be injured.

Largest in 126 years Earthquake
These tremors in Venezuela are being described as the most powerful earthquake in the last 126 years. Earlier in the year 1900, an earthquake of 7.7 magnitude was recorded. In view of the seriousness of the earthquake, Acting President Delsey Rodriguez has declared a national emergency in the country.
20 aftershocks recorded, panic among people

After the powerful earthquake, power supply has been disrupted in many areas of the capital Caracas. As a precaution, metro and train services in Caracas and neighboring Miranda state have been temporarily suspended. 8 countries of South America offered help
After the earthquake, South America and many surrounding countries Has assured to provide all possible assistance to Venezuela. Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Bolivia, Costa Rica and El Salvador have expressed condolences and offered cooperation in relief and rescue operations. The governments of these countries have issued separate statements expressing condolences to those who lost their lives in the earthquake and have promised to send relief material, humanitarian aid and rescue teams if needed.
USGS warning: Thousands of deaths expected
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), there is a 44 percent chance that more than 10,000 people will die due to this earthquake. At the same time, there is about a 30 percent possibility that the death toll may reach one lakh. Experts say that the actual loss can be assessed correctly only after getting complete information from the affected areas.
