Supreme Court on Bihar Sir: The Supreme Court has made a very important comment on Thursday (August 14) amid the political fierce battle over the special intensive revision (SIR) process of the voter list in Bihar. The court has asked the Election Commission to release the list of 65 lakh voters whose names are not included in the draft list. The opposition is calling this decision its victory, while the Election Commission has also agreed to follow the instructions. Now the question is whether the Supreme Court has really fulfilled the demand of the opposition and how much shock the Election Commission has suffered from this?

What instructions have the court gave?

Not only this, the court has also directed that this information should be given booth -wise, so that the voter can be discovered from its EPIC number. The Supreme Court directed the Election Commission to publish this list on the website of District Election Officers. Not only this, this list will also be pasted on the notice board of Panchayat Bhawan and Block Development Panchayat Officers’ office. Apart from this, this list will also be broadcast on newspapers and radio, so that all people can get information easily. Apart from this, the Supreme Court has also recognized the Aadhaar card. However, the court did not say that all the people whose names have been removed will become voters only by showing Aadhaar cards. It is only for a few people who have been declared dead and removed from the voter list, but they are alive. They have been given the facility that they can present the Aadhaar card as an identity.

Is the demand for Tejashwi fulfilled?

As soon as the decision of the Supreme Court came, Bihar Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav called it his victory. Targeting the Election Commission, he quoted sources, quoting sources at the beginning of SIR, but the Election Commission has not mentioned the intruders anywhere in its affidavit to the Supreme Court. Today everyone’s pole has been revealed. He said that this is the victory of democracy. He will fight from the House to the road and the people of Bihar stand with him. Now the question is whether the decision of the Supreme Court has come in favor of Tejashwi Yadav? The answer is- no. In fact, RJD has also filed a petition against SIR in the Supreme Court. RJD MP Manoj Jha has demanded the cancellation of SIR in his petition. They allege that this process has been deliberately made to make it difficult for poor and disadvantaged communities to make names in the voter list. Other political parties including Yogendra Yadav and TMC have also demanded the cancellation of SIR. At the same time, the Supreme Court refused to stay the SIR in the August 6 hearing.
