In the Amar Ujala Samvad program, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presented the government’s view on Chardham Yatra, UCC, employment, encroachment action and development schemes.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Amar Ujala Samvad program organized at a private hotel located on Haridwar Bypass Road on Wednesday. During this, he honored senior actor Shri Rakesh Bedi with Amar Ujala Lifetime Achievement Award. Also released Amar Ujala Uttarakhand Achievers special issue.
Government moving forward taking heritage and development together
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Uttarakhand government is moving forward taking the state’s cultural heritage and modern development together. He said that the system of estimating Gross Environment Product (GEP) has been started in the state, so that a balance can be established between environmental protection and development.
He said that the government is working with better coordination of ecology, economy and technology. Development plans are being implemented keeping in mind the geographical challenges of the state. Our aim is to take Uttarakhand forward keeping in mind the future needs.
Chardham Yatra 2026: Record increase in the number of devotees
The Chief Minister said that Chardham Yatra is not just tourism but a symbol of faith and devotion. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, extensive reconstruction and development work is being done in Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham. He said that the all-weather road project has made travel more convenient and safe than before. The government is continuously making efforts to provide better facilities to the devotees. As soon as the yatra ends, preparations for the next year are started.
According to the Chief Minister, so far more than 40 lakh devotees have visited this year’s Chardham Yatra, which started from April 19. At the same time, a significant increase has also been recorded in Adi Kailash Yatra. Whereas earlier only 400 to 500 devotees used to arrive, this year this number has increased to about 45 thousand. He said that now a large number of devotees are turning to Uttarakhand for winter pilgrimage also.
Strictness on encroachment, emphasis on maintaining the original form of Devbhoomi
Chief Minister Dhami said that the government’s resolve is to protect the cultural and religious identity of Uttarakhand. Any kind of playing with the faith and traditions of Devbhoomi will not be accepted. He said that it is our responsibility to give a safe and orderly Uttarakhand to the future generations. For this purpose, action is being taken against illegal encroachments and encroachments. He clarified that all action is taken on the basis of revenue records and the campaign to remove encroachments will continue in future also.
Uniform Civil Code (UCC) described as historic step
The Chief Minister said that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is an important initiative towards strengthening the concept of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”. He reminded that during the 2022 assembly elections, a promise was made to the public to implement UCC and the government has fulfilled its pledge. He said that after the implementation of UCC in Uttarakhand, initiatives in this direction are being taken in other states also.
Government’s focus on employment and transparent recruitment process
The Chief Minister said that in the last four years, more than 33 thousand youth of the state have been provided government jobs. He said that all the recruitments have been done with complete transparency. He also said that the state government has implemented the country’s toughest anti-copying law, which has strengthened the confidence of the youth in the government recruitment process. Apart from this, youth are being encouraged towards self-reliance and self-employment through Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme, Home Stay Scheme and other schemes.
Prime Minister Modi’s special connection with Uttarakhand
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special emotional connection with Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand resides in his heart and that is why he pays special attention to the development of the state.
