Sia Goyal and her alleged lover Chetan Choudhary are accused of conspiring and carrying out the murder of 25-year-old businessman Ketan Agarwal from Pune, Maharashtra. According to the police, Ketan Aggarwal died on June 18 while trekking at Lohagarh Fort located near Lonavala. Initially the incident was considered an accident, but as the investigation progressed, the matter turned into an alleged murder conspiracy.
How did Siya and Chetan meet?
According to police investigation, Sia Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary met at a Diwali party last year. After this, there was continuous contact between the two. According to news agency ANI, investigators suspect that the two were talking regularly for the last several months and during this period many discussions took place regarding Ketan Aggarwal. Police are investigating these aspects with the help of digital records and other circumstantial evidence.
The family was not aware of the relationship with Chetan Chaudhary
During investigation it came to light that Siya Goyal was allegedly in a relationship with Chetan Chaudhary. However, Ketan Aggarwal’s family was not aware of this relationship. It is being told that Chetan Choudhary’s family also does business in the same business sector where Siya Goyal’s father has a business.
Sia Goyal was not happy about marriage?
During the investigation, the police found indications that Siya Goyal was not satisfied with her engagement and upcoming marriage. Police are currently investigating from this angle whether this was the main reason for the alleged murder. According to officials, Sia claimed during interrogation that she did not want to take the relationship further and had also told Ketan about the same. She said that she had talked about not getting married, but Ketan was continuing the preparations for the marriage. However, the police is trying to independently verify these claims.
Who was Ketan Agarwal?
Ketan Aggarwal belonged to a prestigious business family of Pune. He was a director in his family’s company ‘Success Group’, which is counted among the largest warehouse development companies in Maharashtra. He completed his Master’s degree from FW Olin Graduate School of Business, Babson College, Massachusetts, USA in the year 2023. After completing his studies, he returned to Pune and was handling the family business.
Sia and Ketan got engaged in February
Ketan Agarwal and Siya Goyal got engaged in February this year. This relationship was decided with the consent of the families and Ketan’s maternal uncle is said to have played an important role in it. Siya Goyal also comes from a prosperous business family of Pune. The marriage of both was proposed in November 2026. Wedding preparations had also started and even hotels in Udaipur had been booked.
Important clue to investigation found from CCTV footage
A major turn in the investigation came when the police started scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed around Lohagarh Fort on the day of the incident. The police spotted a suspicious person near the foothills of the fort. According to officials, the man was roaming around wearing a hoodie despite the hot weather. According to Lonavala Rural Police officer Dinesh Tayde, the temperature on the morning of June 18 was around 33 degrees Celsius. Wearing a hoodie, head covering and headphones seemed unusual in such weather, which further deepened police suspicion.
Ketan Aggarwal died during Lohagarh trekking
Police allege that Siya Goyal had pushed her fiance Ketan Aggarwal down the hill with the help of her alleged boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary. The incident occurred on June 18 while trekking at Lohagarh Fort. Initially it was considered an accident, but later during police interrogation and investigation many such facts came to light which increased the suspicion. After this the direction of the matter completely changed.
The family had expressed doubt on the theory of the accident
Ketan Aggarwal’s family had raised questions on the accident theory from the very beginning. He said that Ketan was an experienced trekker and was well familiar with the routes to Lohagarh Fort. The family did not believe that he could slip and fall so easily. For this reason the police started an in-depth investigation of the case.
Was Ketan saved in the first attempt?
According to media reports, investigation has also revealed that an attempt was made to harm Ketan four days before the alleged murder. It is being told that Ketan had survived the first alleged attempt during the Lohagarh trek. It is alleged that Siya had pushed him at that time and later said that she had done so to save him from the snake. Police are also investigating these claims.
