IND vs SA 2nd Test: Team India reach 102 runs at Tea on Day 3

On day 3 of the second Test match against , Team India has reached the score of 102 runs for the loss of four wickets in 36 overs at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati.

The hosts are still trailing by 387 runs against the Proteas.

Team India`s star opening batsman, Yashasvi Jaiswal, departed after scoring 58 runs off 97 deliveries, which was laced with seven boundaries and a maximum. Fellow opening batsman, KL Rahul, scored 22 runs in 63 balls, with the help of two boundaries.

Sai Sudharsan accumulated 15 runs off 40 balls, including two boundaries. Dhruv Jurel endured a poor outing as he returned to the pavilion on a duck after facing 11 balls.

Stand-in skipper Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja are unbeaten at the crease. Pant has faced three balls and has scored six runs, with the help of a maximum, whereas Jadeja, too, has faced three balls and has yet to score any runs.

South Africa`s spinner Simon Harmer has bagged two wickets by conceding 39 runs in 11 overs. and Marco Jansen have registered one wicket each to their names. Bowling 10 overs, Jansen was smashed for 23 runs, and Maharaj leaked 29 runs in nine overs.

Wiaan Mulder is yet to claim any wickets and has bowled six overs, conceding 11 runs.

Earlier in the match, the Proteas were bowled out for 489 runs, thanks to Senuran Muthusamy, Kyle Verreynne and Marco Jansen`s stunning knocks.

Muthusamy scored 109 runs in 206 balls, with the help of 10 boundaries and two maximums. Verreynne smashed 45 runs after facing 122 balls. His knock included five boundaries. Jansen, too, played a crucial knock of 93 runs. His knock ended in 91 balls, during which he smashed six boundaries and seven maximums.

Team India`s wrist-spinner claimed four wickets by conceding 115 runs in 29.1 overs. Lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja registered two scalps each to their names.

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar went wicketless in South Africa`s first innings of the second Test match. Currently, the Temba Bavuma-led side is leading the series by 1-0.
