JNU students’ anti-pollution protest in Delhi turned controversial when protesters raised slogans in support of Naxalite commander Hidma. The BJP leader has called it completely sponsored. The police will also investigate this matter.
JNU students protest for Naxalite Hidma: With the arrival of winter, the air pollution level of the country’s capital Delhi is continuously falling. The Air Quality Index (AQI) figures here are very worrying. Under the cover of this, fierce politics has also started. On the previous day i.e. on 23 November 2025, JNU students demonstrated strongly on this issue at India Gate, although as usual, this demonstration was also sponsored by leftist students. What the students did in the guise of protesting against pollution has been described as shameful.
There was a rally against air pollution in Delhi
Students belonging to the leftist ideology of JNU demonstrated at Delhi’s India Gate against the deteriorating air quality of the capital. The demand of student organizations was that the government was not doing anything about the deteriorating air and increasing pollution in Delhi. During this, the students also raised slogans of long live the dreaded Naxalite Hidma. Let us tell you that Commander Hidma was recently killed in an encounter by the security forces. He was also involved in the incident in which 76 CRPF jawans were blasted to death.
Hidma’s support on the pretext of pollution
The protesters carried posters of Maoist commander Madvi Hidma and praised the Naxalite dominated state. The protesting girls supported Hidma and said, look how clean the air is in Chhattisgarh. Naxalites have controlled pollution there. Students waved banners and posters in support of Maoists. Some protesters, speaking to the media, said that Hidma was a symbol of tribal struggle and that tribal battles related to air pollution should also be brought to the fore. During this, slogans of long live Hidma were raised several times. At the same time, BJP leaders have strongly condemned this sloganeering and called it a distraction from the main stream of the protest.
