CM Yogi said in ‘Divya Geeta Prerna Utsav’ that Shrimadbhagvadgita is the guidance of life, religion and duty. He reiterated the teachings of Nishkam Karma, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and Yato Dharmastato Jayah. Emphasized the spirit of service of RSS, social cooperation and inspiration of Geeta.
Lucknow, 23 November: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in the ‘Divya Geeta Prerna Utsav’ organized at Janeshwar Mishra Park that the 18 chapters and 700 verses of Srimad Bhagavad Gita are the guidance of life for every follower of Sanatan Dharma. Geeta starts with religion and ends with the essence of religion. It is not limited to just worship, but teaches the art and duty of living life.
Srimad Bhagavad Gita—Guidance on Life and Religion
Yogi Adityanath said that in Indian tradition, religion does not mean only the method of worship. Every person can choose faith according to his creed and method, but the basic meaning of religion is duty and right path of life. Geeta gives us new energy and helps in taking right decisions.
Every duty is sacred: battlefield is also the field of religion
Referring to the verse ‘Dharmakshetre Kurukshetre’, CM Yogi said that there is no such example anywhere in the world where the battlefield can be called Dharmakshetra. We have always accepted duty with a sacred feeling – if we do good, it is virtuous, if we do wrong, it is sinful. India never boasted of superiority, but accepted whoever sought refuge.
Yato Dharmastāto Jaiḥ – Where there is Dharma, there is victory
The CM said that the land of India gives the message of “Live and let live” and “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. In the field of religion, war is also fought for the sake of duty. On Dhritarashtra’s question, it is said that where there are characters like Lord Krishna and Arjun, there is victory. Iniquity can never win.
Lord Krishna taught selfless action
The Chief Minister said that ‘Swadharme Nidhanam Shreyah’ means that it is best to follow one’s religion and duty. Lord Krishna has inspired us to do selfless work – do the work, do not worry about the results. If the seed is sown correctly, it will definitely yield fruits.
Example of selfless action-RSS
CM said that Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat is a source of inspiration for selfless work. When embassy officials coming from all over the world ask about the funding of RSS, we tell them that neither OPEC countries nor any international organization gives money. This organization runs only with the support of the society and serves every victim—without any discrimination of caste, religion, language or region.
There is no bargaining in service – but some people have made service a business
CM Yogi said that RSS has never made service a means of bargaining in hundred years, whereas some people have made service a means of business in India and the world. They are trying to change the demography of India by resorting to deceit and disguise. In such a time, Shrimad Bhagavad Gita can become a new inspiration.
Geeta – divine mantra of life for 140 crore Indians
Referring to Swami Gyananand ji, CM Yogi said that through ‘Jio Geeta’ he has spread the message of Geeta in a simple form to all sections of workers, farmers, women, students, soldiers, businessmen, doctors and employed people. Geeta is the path to success in life, not only for jail inmates but for the entire country.
