Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is continuously taking new steps to achieve the goal of making the state a $1 trillion economy. In this direction, special focus is being laid on skill development and modernizing technical education. In a high-level review meeting held on Monday under the chairmanship of Kapil Dev Aggarwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department, global consulting company Deloitte and leading technology company Tata Technologies gave a detailed presentation of the future skill development models and plans being prepared for the youth of the state.
UP’s ITI institutes will be made hi-tech centers of excellence
During the meeting, representatives of Tata Technologies shared the progress report of equipping the State Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) with modern technologies. The company said that many ITI institutes are being developed as ‘Centers of Excellence’, where youth will be trained through Industry 4.0, automation, smart machinery and e-learning platforms. The objective of this initiative is to prepare the youth as per the present and future needs of the industries, so that they can get better employment opportunities not only in the country but also at the global level.
New Skill Development Strategy will be made on the basis of Future Job Trends
In the meeting, Deloitte experts gave a detailed presentation on the important role of skill development and vocational education in taking the economy of Uttar Pradesh to new heights. Analyzing future employment trends, industry demand and investment-led job creation model, the company suggested that skill development schemes be directly linked to industrial investment and new technologies. Experts believe that this will provide more employment and self-employment opportunities to the youth and create an industry-ready workforce in the state.
Yogi government’s goal – skilled and self-reliant youth
Minister of State Kapil Dev Aggarwal said in the meeting that as per the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the expertise of global organizations will be fully utilized to make Uttar Pradesh an economic superpower. He said that the cooperation of companies like Tata Technologies and Deloitte will play an important role in providing world-class training and employment to the youth of the state. He instructed the officials that the plans and suggestions presented by both the companies should be implemented expeditiously, so that every youth of the state can become self-reliant by being equipped with modern technical skills and can actively contribute to the economic progress of the state.
Skill development will get new momentum through PPP model
In the meeting, emphasis was also laid on further strengthening the Public-Private Partnership i.e. PPP model. The aim of the government is not only to make the youth degree holders but also to prepare them as trained professionals as per the needs of the industry. Yogi government believes that if skill development schemes are linked to industries and investment projects, then Uttar Pradesh can emerge as the biggest skill capital of the country.
