Stellantis was struggling and then there was a change in their leadership. The company is now being run by the ones who really about cars and they have revived SRT. And leading the Street and Racing Technologies division will be Tim Kuniskis will lead the brand. For those who don’t know, he is responsible for cars like the Dodge Challenger Demon 170 so we are betting that the SRT division is in very good hands.
“We’re getting the band back together,” said Kuniskis of the SRT news. “SRT is another box we needed to check as we head into a product launch cadence enabling more performance than we’ve ever seen before. We’re working with our product development and technology organization to select the best engineers in powertrain and vehicle dynamics to build a team worthy of the SRT name.”
We already saw the hemi V8 coming back to the RAM trucks which means that there could also be a potential fallback on the V8 for their other products. They are already not killing the V8 in the Durango and we can also see some of that V8 madness trickling down to the Jeep models.
Whatever the case maybe, we are glad that SRT is back as it is carrying on itself the load of the performance division of Stellantis.
