Mumbai U-16 Footballer Found Dead Hanging Case: The death of Mumbai’s young and talented U-16 footballer Sagar Sortie has created a sensation across Maharashtra. A boy who once attracted everyone’s attention with his speed and game on the field, was now found hanging from a tree in the dense forest of Palghar. The matter is so mysterious that everyone from the family to the police is searching for the reason as to what brought about that evening of 15th November when he left home saying to play football in Pune. In the initial investigation by the police, it seems to be a case of suicide, but the story behind it raises many questions.
When did Sagar leave the house?
Sagar left home on November 15, telling his family that he was going to play a football match in Pune. The family thought he was focusing on his game, but the next day his phone started switching off. Despite repeated calls, the contact could not be made, due to which the family members became worried. On November 18, a young man was found hanging from a tree with the help of a rope in Mendhawan Khind forest of Palghar. Identification was done from the mobile phone lying with him – it was Sagar Sortie. The family went into shock after receiving this news.
What did the family say on the death of footballer Sagar Sortie?
Family members say that Sagar was going through mental stress for the last two years. He was often upset and did not express his feelings openly to anyone. She even refused to get new clothes stitched for her younger brother’s wedding, which was to take place at the end of this month. An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been registered at Kasa Police Station and investigation into the case is underway. Superintendent of Police Yatish Deshmukh said that the body has been sent to JJ Hospital in Mumbai for postmortem. The actual cause of death will become clear only after the report comes.
Had mental stress made Sagar lonely?
Sagar’s family also told that in the last few months he had started living very quietly. Was he under any pressure? Did he have sports-related stress? Or was some personal problem troubling him?
What was found in the mobile phone? Was there any clue in it?
His mobile phone was found with Sagar, through which identification was possible, but the police is now investigating his call records, chats and location history. There will also be an investigation into who he last met, who he talked to, and whether there was any indication of tension or threat in his phone.
Is this clearly suicide or something else?
The case currently looks like suicide, but both the family and the police are waiting for the postmortem report. Only this report will tell how and under what circumstances Sagar died. The death of Sagar Sortie has left many questions and only the upcoming updates in the investigation will completely clear this mystery.
