The Chief Minister made this announcement when he was handing over appointment letters to the newly selected Group-II employees. He told the new employees that they not only have to perform their duties honestly but also have to be responsible towards the society and family.

CM Revanth Reddy said that we are going to bring a law in which if any government employee neglects his parents, then 10 to 15 percent amount will be deducted from his salary and transferred to his parents’ account. Just like you get a salary every month, we will ensure that your parents also get a share of the same salary every month. The Chief Minister has directed Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao to form a special committee to prepare the draft of this proposed law. He said that this step is being taken to promote family responsibility and human sensitivities in the society.

Elderly parents will get justice

Revanth Reddy in his address said that in today’s time many elderly parents are neglected by their own children, especially when the children are employed and ignore the financial or emotional needs of the parents. He said that the government is committed to providing justice to such parents. If this decision of Telangana government is implemented, it will not only prove to be a social reform but can also become an example for other states. This law is expected to make employees more conscious of taking care of their elderly parents and strengthen family ties.
