Uttar Pradesh Economic Growth: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave details of changes in the Economic, Agriculture and Infrastructure sector in UP after 2017 in the Legislative Council. The state has made significant progress in GSDP, Kisan Income and Industry Development.
Yogi adityanath up development: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in the Legislative Council that after 2017, there has been a significant change in government thinking and functioning in the state. The discussion lasted for 26 hours to carry forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s concept of ‘developed India-developed Uttar Pradesh’, in which all the members of the House were actively involved.
Why was UP backward before 2017?
The Chief Minister said that despite huge possibilities, UP continued to lag behind 2017. Plans were made, but there was no implementation. There was a lack of basic facilities like electricity, roads, water and health. Employment for the youth, relief for farmers and no trust for investors. Crime and anarchy were dominated. Diseases like encephalitis killed children and gave deep grief to their families.

What changed in UP after 2017?
Yogi Adityanath told the House that now the rule of law in UP, zero tolerance for criminals, safe environment for industries and UP dream destination for investors. The state is connected to the best connectivity of water, land and sky. Farmers directly benefited, employment and skill development opportunities for youth increased. The government’s schemes are being implemented in a transparency and discrimination without discrimination.
Long jump in economic progress and GSDP
In 2016-17, UP’s GSDP was 13 lakh crores, which is now on the way to reach Rs 35 lakh crore. The per capita income will increase to Rs 1.20 lakh. UP’s contribution to GDP is expected to reach 9.5 per cent. Export has increased from 84 thousand crores to 1 lakh 86 thousand crore rupees. The dependence on central taxes has reduced to a pioneer in UP revenue.
UP’s contribution to agriculture and food production
The Chief Minister said that the state has touched new heights in agriculture and its associated areas. UP has now become the food of the country. UP’s contribution to wheat, rice and pulses production has increased. Since 2017, the number of sugar mills has increased and more than Rs 2.86 lakh crore sugarcane price was paid to the farmers. UP’s national contribution in potatoes, bananas and vegetables is important.
New initiatives for farmers and villagers
CM informed that 90 thousand crore rupees were sent to the account of 2.86 crore farmers under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. Solar panels were given under the PM Kusum Yojana. 31 irrigation projects were completed, causing 23 lakh hectares of land to get additional irrigation benefits. Free electricity connection was provided to private tube wells.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that the changes between 2017 and 2025 are taking UP towards the developed state. Now the goal is to strengthen the role of the state by 2047. With better law and order, good governance and development, UP will make its mark in the leading states of the country.
